After all, you’re investing your time and money into something that could determine your entire future. Choosing an institution that’s both registered and
accredited will give you the peace of mind that whatever qualification or certification you leave with is worth even more than the paper it’s printed on!
The good news
Damelin (Pty) Ltd is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a Private Higher Education Institution under the Higher Education Act No. 101 of 1997 and its higher education programmes are accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE). Registration Number: 2001/HE07/009.
Damelin (Pty) Ltd is provisionally registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a Private College under the Continuing Education and Training Act No. 16 of 2006. Registration Number: 2008/FE07/089. Damelin (Pty) Ltd is provisionally accredited by Umalusi, the Quality Council for General and Further Education and Training. Damelin (Pty) Ltd is further accredited by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO).
But what does all that mean?
Basically? It means you can relax knowing that every single one of the degrees, diplomas and certficates that Damelin College offers have got the thumbs up from the South African Department of Higher Education and Training as well as Umalusi, the Quality Council for General and Further Education and Training.
So, what does that mean?It means that after days, weeks, months or even years of hard work, you’ll walk out of Damelin with a piece of paper you can be proud of. A piece of paper that says
you’re qualified to go out there and rock the world!
Now, let’s take a look at the types of programmes offered at Damelin:
National Qualifications are formal qualifications registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF), which is really just a fancy way of saying that it’s a
centralised registry of all Nationally recognised qualifications in South Africa.
Because we are a Higher Education Institution, we’re in the unique position of being able to offer both university-level and Further Education and Training (FET) qualifications.
FET qualifications are “non-school” qualifications, in trades and occupations, at NQF level 1-4, but they are not Higher Education. Higher Education qualifications are all post-school level and are on levels 5-10 of the Higher Education Qualifications Framework.
Damelin Programmes are quality assured and certified by the Damelin Academic Board; they are not registered on the NQF, do not carry any credits and they do they lead to a National Qualification.
They are, however, in high demand with people wanting to upskill in a particular area. So if you’ve just recently been promoted or you’d like to expand your area of knowledge, for instance, then one of our programmes or short programmes might be right for you!
Agent Programmes are qualifications and programmes offered on behalf of professional or foreign bodies.
Please note: Not all programmes are offered at all campuses. Give us a shout to find out which courses and programmes are available at the campus closest to you!
